Anything Can Happen in the Dark
Michelle Ohm
March 21 – April 26, 2026
A solo exhibition exploring the psychological architecture of the Gothic, the cinematic female gaze, and the labor of looking.
About the Exhibition
In this body of work, Ohm presents a series of intimate, high-contrast drawings that navigate the tension between deep, impenetrable blacks and the fragile glow of candlelight.
Working primarily with black colored pencil and graphite on panel, Ohm creates images that feel pulled from the quietest, most unsettled moments of a narrative, specifically cinematic. Her technique utilizes the slow, granular nature of the medium to build atmospheric fields where figures seem to emerge directly from the void.
Her work continues to explore how stillness and deliberate looking can transform a cinematic moment into a permanent, psychological presence.
